Remote Assets: Behind the Firewall

Today, we announced that publishers can now transcode and host video assets on their own infrastructure with the release of "Remote Assets." The enhancement allows publishers to manage, monetize, deliver, analyze... their videos with Ooyala even if the videos are not hosted by Ooyala. iTunes Syndication in Backlot

Another week, another new feature rolls into Backlot. This week we're pleased to announce a new syndication destination in the External Publishing tab: Podcast. Use this feature to generate an iTunes-compatible feed for submission to the iTunes Store or for use in any other compatible podcast software. Got Ads? Get Ad Sets

Integrating ads with your video content just became much easier. Today we're introducing Ad Sets, a feature which enables you to quickly roll out new ad campaigns and manage ad placements across all of your content. An Ad Set defines the placement of ads within a video. You can configure each ad in an Ad Set to play as a pre-roll, post-roll or in stream ad. This works with your own ad content and with ads from third party networks, like DoubleClick and YuMe.

At Ooyala, we take our customer's comments and suggestions to heart, so when we started hearing from multiple customers that they wanted a way to apply Syndication Group, Ad Set, Custom Player and Genre to multiple videos or channels at a time, we listened! As the newest member of the UI Design team, I got to work brainstorming how to introduce this feature in Backlot and after many sketches and iterations, I came up with the best possible user experience for bulk application of settings to multiple items.

Schedule When Your Videos Go on the Air

Want to schedule a video to air only after it shows on TV? Interested in making a video available starting tomorrow night at 7pm? Our newly added flight time feature enables you to control when a video is available for viewing. Simply change the syndication options for the video in Backlot's Darkroom by specifying a start time and an optional end time for a video. Users who access the video before it's available will see a countdown over the video's preview image. If you have any questions or comments email us at support@ooyala.com.
