Ooyala, Telstra Team to Scale Digital Broadcasting Platform for MSOs

Today Ooyala is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Telstra, Australia’s largest multi-service operator and a leading telecommunications and information services company with presence in 15 countries. 

Telstra led our Series E investment round, which totals $35-million. Moreover, Ooyala and Telstra are finalizing an agreement through which Telstra will integrate Ooyala technology with its IPTV multi-device offerings, becoming Ooyala’s largest customer. Telstra will also join our global reseller network, working with content providers throughout Australia to standardize on Ooyala software, video analytics and service offerings as they transition from traditional video delivery to IP-based distribution. 
 
Finally, as part of the new partnership, Telstra’s Director of Media Gary Traver will join Ooyala’s board of advisors
 
It’s an exciting time for MSOs and TV programmers. Together, our companies will use our combined expertise in telecommunications services, Internet-based video delivery, analytics and monetization solutions to build digital multi-screen, multi-platform viewing experiences for audiences everywhere.
