Better Analytics, Better Insight: The New Ooyala Analytics API

Ooyala is always looking for ways to make our technology more powerful and user-friendly in order to maximize returns for our partners. Today, we’re pleased to announce our updated Analytics APIs, which will give video publishers unparalleled insights into viewer behavior and engagement.

These second-generation analytics APIs give publishers a fast and easy way to programmatically retrieve analytics data about their account. Like other Ooyala APIs, these new tools were designed with developer friendliness in mind. They use a "REST" architecture which focuses on resources (objects) instead of the actions you can perform on them. The result is an elegant solution that delivers key viewership data.

Publishers can also use these new APIs to build customized analytics widgets to track the content that matters most to them. The Ooyala API scratchpad allows you to play around with our APIs without having to write any code.
