Announcing Ooyala's next generation of APIs

August 25, 2011
Today we are launching the next generation of APIs. It’s available to everyone, starting right now.

A New High-Performance and Scalable Datastore

May 18, 2010
Maximizing online video viewership and online ad revenue requires insight into users' online video behavior. To that end, Ooyala collects and processes terabytes of logs data per month. Our analytics data storage is growing at over 5x the rate of the storage of video content libraries.

Monetization Rockstars

February 14, 2011
Our monetization team members are rockstars. Just look at them: driven, pretty, and great improvisers. (Decent sense of humor, too.) The best part? They're looking for some new friends to join the band. But not the kinda-sorta-friends you collect on Facebook or LinkedIn. They want solid friends. Companeros. Amici. 친구.

Ooyala 2010 Hackathon

December 10, 2010
Ooyala’s engineering team never ceases to amaze me. Strike that: the entire Ooyala team. Let me tell you why.

MapReduce, Networking and Pizza

January 21, 2010
If your idea of a good time is running large-scale processes on a cluster of hundreds of machines, we'd love to meet you. On Thursday, January 28th, we will be holding an engineering open house at the Ooyala headquarters. It promises to be an eventful evening of food, drink, discussion and networking. Meet the Ooyala team and learn more about how Ooyala is utilizing the latest technologies like Hadoop. Also don't forget to enter the raffle and win some cool prizes!

Something for developers: Analytics API

September 19, 2008
The same data that drives Analytics for Backlot is now available to developers via the Analytics API. You can use it to program custom dashboards and integrate Ooyala's powerful analytics data into your own applications. The API fetches XML data from our servers, with more formats on the way in the coming weeks. You can easily ask for data broken down by day, week or month. Here's a sample of data for a video over the past two days:
