Monetization Monday: Online Video Advertising Tops $3 Billion in 2012 -- INFOGRAPHIC

We're hard at work to bring you the next Video Index (see Q1's here). But in case you can't wait to sate your online video data fix, we've decided to pull some numbers from friends in the industry and examine the state of online video advertising. This week, we dive into Adap.TV and Digiday's Q1 Video State of the Industry report.

With video ad spend expected to top $3 billion this year (a 52 percent increase from 2011), this is a rapidly burgeoning field with about 169 million eyeballs each month. Most brands, agencies and ad networks are bullish on online video advertising, with 96 percent of them increasing their spend an average of 23 percent in 2012. There are mixed feelings about what video ad campaigns should align with. Almost half (49 percent) believe they should match TV commercials, 40 percent say display ads and 11 percent say neither.
